This Time, inhabited intermittently since 1905, became a strong in 1918. In 1919, during the conflict concerning the development of the borders between the British mandate of Palestine and the French mandate on Syria and Lebanon, the British agreed to cede the north of the High Galilee which contained Tel Time, Metula, Hamrah and Kfar Giladi. On 1 March 1920, Tel Time was attacked by a group of Arab insurgents from a Lebanese village. Joseph Trumpeldor and seven of his companions, all members of the Jewish self-defence organization Hachomer, were killed. This is the dramatic episode of the name of Kiryat Shmona (the "city of eight"). Every year, at this date of 11 Adar, takes place a commemorative ceremony with wreath deposit at the foot of the monument dedicated to Joseph Trumpeldor. This Time was rebuilt and absorbed in 1926 in the kibbutz of Kfar Giladi.
