The Bois des Estunes is a small natural area with dense, luxuriant vegetation - mainly mighty oaks - emblematic of the Porqueres municipality. What makes it so special is the abundance of deep fissures, caused by small earthquakes, in the blocks of local rock that make up the soil around Banyoles: travertine, a characteristic material found near karst lakes. The small undergrowth has the air of an enchanted forest and invites you to take a stroll. It's probably not for nothing that legends of water fairies, the Goges, proliferate here. A soothing stroll.
