The medieval enclosure of Hostalric was declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest in 1963
Declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest in 1963, the city preserves one of the most outstanding monumental heritages of the Catalan Middle Ages. What remains of the old walled enclosure is an urban complex that runs along the Royal Road (Plaça dels Bous, Carrer Major and Plaça de la Ayuntamiento) and includes 8 medieval towers and 600 metres of wall that stretch from Plaça dels Bous to the Barcelona Gate. The turnkey tour is at your own discretion. To visit: The Tower of the Brothers, the Tower of Ararà, the wall walkway and the Relliguer cave.
