The carrer Major has some beautiful examples of Gothic architecture
It is declared a cultural property of national interest and is one of the oldest and most important Gothic neighborhoods in Catalonia: wherever you look in the old city center, you can discover entire Gothic buildings, or small elements integrated here and there in the midst of later constructions (portals, windows, inscriptions…). Here is the emblematic character of the Avall carving, probably the most famous of Anglès with its two arches overlooking the aisle on either side, or the carpet Major, which also has some beautiful examples of Gothic architecture. Some of the modernist art touches the entire city, the restaurant of Alliança in the first place.
