CORK SCULPTURE GARDEN
An amazing collection of cork monuments located in the heart of the small forest of Cartellà
In the heart of the small Cartellà forest lies an astonishing collection of monuments... made of cork! It's the work of a single retired woman, Remei Mulleras, with a passion for architecture and Catalonia. Entering her miniature park is like taking a tour of Catalonia's heritage in less than an hour. You'll find the Sagrada Familia and other works by Gaudí, but above all an impressive string of churches and holy places, from the largest cathedrals to the most modest Romanesque buildings, notably in the Vall de Llémena. In the run-up to Christmas, the inspired cork-handed designer installs nativity scene elements between the monuments, as well as tiny versions of the workplaces of craftsmen from a bygone era: shoemaker, blacksmith, boilermaker... A unique place.
