CAN VENTURA

Catalan restaurant €€€
5/5
1 review

Can Ventura is a must for anyone passing through Llívia. Located on the Plaça Major, the building impresses with its appearance: a tall block of old stone with three wrought-iron balconies adorned with flowers overlooking the village's main square. The service room has a certain cachet, with its heavy ceiling beams, paintings depicting scenes from village life of yesteryear and subdued atmosphere. The cuisine is traditional Catalan mountain fare of the highest quality, from Trinxat to homemade croquetas , as well as excellent mountain arròs and braised meats. In fine weather, the terrace is a delight.

EL TUPI

Catalan restaurant
5/5
1 review

El Tupi is the bar-restaurant frequented by the inhabitants of the village. In fact, it's the right place for those who want to eat well at a very reasonable price. The whole Palacios family is involved in the cooking and offers a copious menu that changes every day. The cod au gratin served every Friday is not to be missed. The motto of the place is "keep calm and enjoy" and one appreciates the inimitable friendly Spanish atmosphere. For lunch and dinner, all classes mix and enjoy the delicacies with a glass of wine or a beer.

TRUMFES

Catalan restaurant €€

Opened by two young cooks trained in the best restaurants in Spain, Trumfes has quickly seduced the inhabitants of Llívia as well as visiting gourmets. Pau and Alex have turned Catalan cuisine into an art form: the dishes are formidably well executed and divinely good. The wine list is very eclectic and full of beautiful nuggets that made us fall in love. These two chefs are young, talented and full of ideas. We like their simplicity, the warm welcome and the care taken with the decoration. It's fine and elegant and the price is very reasonable.

LA CALÈCHE

Catalan restaurant €€
4/5
1 review

Run by a couple as friendly as they are inspired, this small establishment has the air of a mountain chalet and offers a cuisine made from typical regional products, with an added touch of originality. In fact, the plates are small but copious and are combined in the manner of tapas, allowing you to taste many of the excellent preparations of Madame, who is in the kitchen. As for Monsieur, he provides the service, in French. The menu changes quite often so that new flavours can be discovered. Very good and surprising little restaurant.

CAL COFA

This restaurant is a culinary reference in the region. A fame which rests on the quality of the products proposed, whether it is meats or vegetables. Indeed, it is in their own farm located at less than one kilometer of the restaurant that they produce meats, vegetables or snails. The result is a very varied menu that will allow you to appreciate braised snails, suckling lamb or a nice plate of mushrooms when the season comes. We also appreciate the quality of the service. Remember to make reservations because it is a very popular address.

RITA PORTA

Regional cuisine restaurant €€

Total makeover and restoration to highlight the wooden and granite structure of this farmhouse which was in turn a bar, restaurant and nightclub. Today, one comes to Rita Porta to taste a very good menu which mixes "mar i munt" and to admire the interior spaces and in particular the vast room of the1st floor. In the plate, the quantities are generous (as often in Cerdanya), the dishes are tasty, the service smiling and the bill never salty. A bottle of organic wine is included in the menu. A nice surprise.

ESQUIROL

Catalan restaurant €€

You'll appreciate the quality and quantity of the products served at this Esquirol, which means squirrel in Catalan. You'll be able to sample unctuous local charcuterie, cod as tender as butter and truly succulent calamari. And all for a very reasonable price, since Eduardo, the owner, is keen to offer very reasonable prices. No worries either when it comes to service, as the mechanics are well oiled, the wait is short and the smile is always present, even though the restaurant is rarely empty. And to top it all off, the xarrup is on the house.
