ROMAN TOWER
This square Romanesque tower of the 13th and 14th centuries rises to 21 meters and will serve as a strong identity sign for the city
This is all that remains of the former Sant Vicenç church, which stood against it. Preserved as it was when the new church was built in the 17th century, this 13th-14th century Romanesque square tower, standing 21 meters high, was intended to serve as the church's bell tower. But it wasn't until the early twentieth century that the church was actually fitted with a bell tower. It will, however, serve as a strong sign of the town's identity. On the same square, the Tree of Liberty, a 25-metre plane tree, was planted in 1870, in the French tradition of the 1789 revolution, symbolizing the conquest of freedom by the people.
