This museum, one of the oldest still active in Catalonia, houses an impressive collection of taxidermy.
The museum is made up of 2 distinct sections: the Espace Darder, which shows what a late 19th-century natural science museum might have looked like, with its impressive taxidermy exhibition; and the Espace du Lac, dedicated to the characteristics of the Estany de Banyoles and its lake basin. Founded in 1916, the museum was originally a natural history exhibition, before being restored and reopened in 2007. It is the second oldest museum in the Province of Girona and one of the oldest in Catalonia.
