This museum, one of the oldest still active in Catalonia, houses an impressive collection of taxidermy.
This museum is made up of 2 distinct parts: the Darder Space, which shows what a natural science museum of the end of the 19th century could look like, with its impressive taxidermy exhibition; and the Lake Space, dedicated to the particularities and characteristics of Lake Banyoles and its lake basin. Founded in 1916, the museum was originally a natural history exhibition, before being restored and reopened in 2007. It is the second oldest museum in the Province of Girona and one of the oldest in Catalonia that is still active.
