BUS STATION
Read moreConveniently, you can ask for the exact timetables of all the buses at the tourist office in the square, right next to the bus stop. Buses are fairly punctual and prices are very attractive for travellers on a tight budget. From San Ignacio, you can reach Belize City, of course, but also Flores, in Guatemala, in around 1h30. You'll need 12 or 13 hours to get to Tulum, Mexico, and even 16 hours to Merida, Mexico, with a change in Belize City and another in Chetumal for the latter two destinations.

Read moreIn addition to the country's major cities (Punta Gorda, San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Placencia, Dangriga, Corozal Town), Tropic Air also offers flights to neighboring Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. The company also offers a dozen flights and excursions to the country's major tourist attractions (Blue Hole, Lamanai, Belize Zoo...). A flight over the Great Blue Hole is an unforgettable experience, during which you'll discover the Holy Grail of the world's divers from the air, with a much better view than from the surface of the sea.
