Installed in Stephen A.'s birth house. Douglas, a 19th century statesman, this museum focuses on the industry of the city of Brandon at its inception and the anti-slavery movement. Douglas is known for opposing Lincoln in a landmark debate on the abolition of slavery and for running against him in the 1860 presidential election. The museum displays numerous photographs with explanatory panels. It can be visited quickly and allows visitors to plunge back into 19th century political America.
