A village of 700 souls that seems to be laid on the bay, where one goes mainly to rest. With the construction of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal which began in 1824, Chesapeake City was separated in two by the watercourse, the north and south of the city being connected by a bridge and a daily ferry service. You can, however, confine yourself to the southern part which is the historic neighbourhood, and which was classified as such in 1974. Between its beautiful marina and its typical houses in the early 19 th century, Chesapeake City alone sums up the softness of the bay.
