This place, halfway between a grocery store, a mini-market and a DIY store, is a real institution. It is the oldest business on the island. Its original owner, Nathan Mayhew, resigned himself to returning to West Tisbury after failing to find gold in California during the rush! That's how Alley's General Store was born, in 1858. The store was completely renovated in 1993. Here you can find anything and everything, and the place also has a coffee and sandwich shop. Ideal for a quick break.
