DELTA MUSIC MUSEUM

Mickey Gilley, Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Lee Lewis all come from Ferriday. Jerry, the most famous, caused a scandal when at the age of 13 he started to play in a bar in Natchez what would become "the devil's music", rock'n'roll. The museum allows you to take a good dose of musical and social culture since Ferriday was hit hard by the racist violence of the KKK years and was a theater of the fight against segregation. The Haney Big House, the place where Jerry Lee Lewis and so many others emerged, is nearby but cannot be visited.
