The Agglomération agglomeration was an important stop on the Long Island railway line in 1844. This is where the island's cranberry cultivation was concentrated until the US Navy bought the Land in 1953. Calverton became an important naval base and a place of construction of aircraft until 1995, with the abandonment of the land by the Northrop Grumman builder. In 1965, a project for the construction of the 4 th airport in the New York City was rejected by the inhabitants.
