Holbrook was born in 1881 during the construction of the Atlantic and Pacific Rail Road, and named the engineer of the railway engineer Henry R. Holbrook. The city is known as the gateway to Petrified Forest National Park. As such, huge decorative dinosaurs and numerous fossil shops are present throughout the streets. You can visit the Navajo County Historic Courthouse Museum, which also serves as Visitor Center and see the Wigwam Motel, one of the only two survivors of the famous 1930-1940 s motel chain.
