Cold Spring is perhaps the most charming of all the villages along the Hudson River. With less than 2,000 inhabitants, it has retained its old-fashioned flavour and takes us back a few centuries, before the American Civil War. The city centre, built around Main Street, is listed in the National Register of Historic Sites. The surrounding nature, including the Breakneck Ridge Trail, is very popular for hiking.
