Since 2020, Carlotta and Michael have been running this diving center on the island of Pemba with professionalism and passion. It boasts some 30 spots in the marvellous seabed of Pemba and the surrounding islands. If you already know how to dive, packages are available ranging from one day to a week. If you're just starting out, this is the ideal place to take your Padi Open Water. Surrounded by baobab trees and located directly on the beach, Afro Divers is surrounded by incredible nature.
Far from the modern world, far from mass tourism, our dive center is the opposite of a 'factory' dive center.
We're small and personal. Small dive groups for more fun!
Afro Divers is a young company, but our team members are highly experienced and well-trained. Most of our members are originally from Pemba, and we're delighted to work hand in hand with the village next door. We are also an international diving center, with our team communicating in English, Italian, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Swahili. We're very proud to be a mix of European and local staff. Together, we are over thirteen people, making sure the center runs as smoothly as possible.
We work closely with the local community and try to use local products and services as much as possible to create greater economic prosperity for the people around us.
Our philosophy is to be as environmentally friendly as possible. First and foremost, we fundamentally believe that each individual is responsible for his or her own ecological footprint, and we also ask our customers to use appropriate diving techniques to minimize damage to the reef.
Pemba is one of Tanzania's last natural paradises. This is because the island has been isolated throughout its history, and tourism has yet to reach Pemba. It boasts some of the most intense and unspoilt habitats in the region. What's more, the people of Pemba have stayed close to their culture, are friendly and always helpful.
Afro Divers will be the only independent dive center on the island of Pemba and will be located as close as possible to the dive sites. We offer an all-inclusive service from the moment we pick you up from your hotel to the moment we bring you back. On site, we have all the necessary facilities to welcome you and make your stay as relaxing as possible
We are a PADI dive center, with a fast boat and high-performance diving equipment to optimize your comfort.
We always dive in small groups. Your dive will be exclusive and personalized.
There are no other dive boats in Pemba, so you'll be the only one on the ocean, making your dive even more unique and exciting.
