Oklahoma's longest truss bridge built in 1933, a 1.2 km structure over the Canadian River in Bridgeport
This mile-long structure over the Canadian River is the longest truss bridge in Oklahoma. Built in 1933, it was installed when a new alignment of Route 66 was created to directly connect El Reno and Hydro. This new alignment and the Pony Bridge signaled the death of Bridgeport, which was now bypassed. The crossing of this magnificent bridge is an unforgettable moment of the route. During 2022, work was planned to reinforce the structure.
