EX-COMPANHIA DO CABO SUBMARINO BUILDING
National Historic Monument building in Benguela, with telegraph cables, housing the Provincial Department of Culture.
Following a terrible fire in March 2015, nothing remains of this remarkable edifice, which was listed as a National Historic Monument. A symbol of the conquest of the telegraph and international communication in the 19th century, the building arrived in Benguela dismantled, from England. It was made of iron and wood. There is talk of building a replica of the edifice, but so far this proposal has been shelved.
