PARQUE NATURAL REGIONAL CHIMALAVERA

Natural site to discover

Chimalavera was first established as a special reserve in June 1971 and a regional natural park in April 1974. It extends over 150 km 2 in an arid côtière elevated plain from 50 to 265 metres of altitude, limited by endroits in places, relatively vertigineux.

The vegetation is sparse, with a herbaceous and épineux. Several small herds of the very graceful and slender Cabras of Leque. Antidorcas marsupialis angolensis is one of three subspecies of the springbok, antelope only present in southern Africa. According to precipitation, other species can be seen in Chimalavera, like monkeys, here the Macaco Cão. Hyenas and kebab are also visible for those who stay overnight in the park.

It is a mini-safari very accessible to everyone who leads through very beautiful landscapes with some views to the sea in certain places.
