This castle nestled in a green setting is one of the most beautiful jewels of the Nièvre.
Overlooking the town of Bazoches, the castle is nestled in a green setting, imposing on visitors its rigorous architecture, a mirror of eight centuries of French and Morvan history. Built in the 12th century by Jean de Bazoches, the castle was the home of the Chastellux and Vauban families, whose current owners are the descendants. Many times remodelled, it is to Vauban that we owe its transformation into a military garrison. For its history and its breathtaking view of the Morvan, the castle of Bazoches is one of the most beautiful jewels of the Nièvre!
