MAINE FOREST AND LOGGING MUSEUM
Operational hydraulic sawmill offering a picnic in the vicinity to see the sheds and the old steam locomotive.
It's an open-air museum that you can visit here! Indeed, this historic site dates back to the 1790s. The centerpiece of the museum is Leonard's Mill, a former sawmill where logs were processed into commercial lumber. This hydraulic sawmill is the only one still operational in the entire state. You can still see the sheds (made of wood of course), but also the old steam locomotive. The locals come to picnic in the area.
