The Barthel Estate is one of the highest in Alsace with an altitude of about 500 meters, hence its classification as a "mountain vineyard"! Located on 11 hectares of schistous slopes (unique in Alsace), the vines benefit from an exceptional amount of sunshine. The specialty of the house is the pinot noir, declined in delicious vintages: Pinot Noir Rosé, Clos du Sonnenbach, Vieilles Vignes, Cuvée René. The domain also produces excellent white wines and crémants of Alsace.

Alain Hertrich defines himself as a committed artisan baker, concerned with preserving the art of baking in its most authentic form. Therefore, he makes natural leavened breads that he kneads entirely by hand in a beechwood kneading trough! He uses organic flours from ancient seeds supplied by local mills and farms. Alain bakes his bread in a wood-fired oven with a Soufflenheim pottery hearth. The same goes for the pastries, brioches and other kougelhopfs... and the tarts flambées.
