CHAPELLE SAINTE-THÉRÈSE
St. Theresa's Chapel, with an exhibition, documented by panels and photos tracing the life of the saint
It can be seen when you climb up the citadel from the Sambre. The chapel (1928) is dedicated to Saint Therese of Lisieux. It was originally built on land belonging to the school for boatmen's children and an oratory installed by the nuns of this school. Its construction is innovative for the time: the concrete walls were poured on site. From its square, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley. A very complete exhibition, documented by panels and photos, retraces the life of the saint.
