The Outremeuse district welcomes more than 250,000 visitors for this festival dedicated to the Virgin with mass in Walloon and processions.
The Outremeuse district welcomes more than 250,000 visitors for this festival! It begins with the traditional release of the "Bouquet" filled with 3,000 silk flowers. On August 15, the procession of the Black Madonna (dating from the 16th century) takes place followed by a mass in Walloon. Folkloric procession (with brass bands, brotherhoods, walkers, shooting societies, animation groups, floats and giants) and free concerts. The festivities end with the burial of "Matî l'Ohè": the cremation and the funeral of a bone, a popular ball and a fireworks display.

Pour la plupart, les fêtes du 15 août seront l'occasion de déguster un frise pequet (ou plusieurs) en outremeuse, épicentre des festivités. On dirait que , pour l'occasion, chaque habitant du quartier a sorti une table pour mettre à disposition cet alcool régional. Attention que certains vendeurs coupent parfois la boisson avec de l'eau pour augmenter les bénéfices.
