The oldest of the international cycling races still organized and the most popular of the Ardennes classics.

It is the oldest international cycling race still organized, hence its nickname of "doyenne". Created in 1892 and taking place every year on the last Sunday of April, Liège-Bastogne-Liège is one of the five references of the professional and European cycling calendar. This race is, with the Flèche wallonne, the most popular of the Belgian Ardennes classics. All the stars of international cycling have participated in this tough competition and have quickly realized that Belgium is not really a flat country.
