ALTEREZ-VOUS

Vegan restaurant

Open - Close to 23h30

A well-balanced mix of conviviality, exchange and reflection... At the start of a "project kot", four young people enthusiastically launched this café-citizen where debates and other militant events are organized. The menu is praiseworthy and includes a number of seasonal specialities, both organic and home-made (pasta, quiches, soups, sandwiches...). With special beers and some cocktails from far away places. Nice decoration and concert evenings, including regular jam sessions. Don't hesitate to check their Facebook page for the calendar.

LA CRÊPERIE BRETONNE

Crperie

The place stands out for its wide range of 350 sweet and savoury crepes. You can choose the toppings as you would for a pizza. Just one example: the Saint-Bernard with olive cream, egg, salami, brie cheese and pine nuts! You can enjoy one of the many cocktails, one of the many salads or a good beer among some 250 references, most of which are Belgian. If not, you can drink Breton cider to stay in the mood. Very well known in Louvain-la-Neuve (the house exists since 1975) and to be discovered urgently when you come from outside!

LA BRANCHE DE FIGUIER

The Louvanist city has an originality within its walls: a Palestinian table. Born thanks to the roots of the Asli family, the Fig Tree Branch stands out for the quality of its family gastronomy plates. The local tradition is naturally leaning towards mezze, moussakas and other falafels but it would be very simplistic to limit the Palestinian (and Lebanese) cuisine to these only known specialties. You can find a variety of durum, soups, grilled meats and even Palestinian burgers, but we recommend the assortment plates.

LE PETIT VINGTIÈME

French cuisine restaurant €€

Located inside the Hergé museum, the decor is based on the themes of the adventures of the young reporter. For Le Petit Vingtième was a weekly supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle intended for young people, where Tintin's adventures were born in 1930. One can see the front pages of the newspaper exposed on the ceiling following a luminous ribbon. Sitting here is ideal to enjoy the place and taste the quality French-Belgian brasserie dishes. Sharp tintinophiles will however regret not finding Syldavian specialities on the menu!

LA POPOTE BELGE

Belgian restaurant €€

The name of this restaurant sets the tone: in a village bistro atmosphere (but a chic version), you can enjoy... Belgian cuisine. A wide range of the best and most comforting dishes from the Flat Country: Liège meatballs, mussels from the North Sea, waterzooi or chicon au gratin. Hamburgers and pasta are added to the menu (student city oblige). Under the gaze of King Baudouin, immortalized on a giant banknote (in Belgian francs), we will of course enjoy a good beer.
