Domaine Wehrlé in Alsace: 10 ha organic, Grands Crus Eichberg and Pfersigberg, fresh, precise wines, floral sylvaner in foudre.
The story begins in 1909, when Adolph, a blacksmith, bought a few vines to supplement his income. His son Xavier transformed the experiment by creating a label and bottling the wine on the estate. Today, Laurent Wehrlé continues this family saga with brio. At the head of 10 hectares of organic vineyards, including 4 in the Grands Crus Eichberg and Pfersigberg, he uses the 7 Alsatian grape varieties and a mosaic of terroirs to create wines of great precision. A particular favorite is his sylvaner, aged 6 months in foudre: fresh, delicate, irresistible.
