Gare centrale, the cathedral of railways built by architect Louis de La Censerie from 1895 to 1905, with a steel and glass hall

This "cathedral of the railways" is breathtaking. Renovated in 2009, it was built by the architect Louis de La Censerie between 1895 and 1905. The platforms are reached by a monumental staircase. The trains enter under a curved glass roof with a parabolic structure. The hall is made of steel and glass. In the past, first class passengers used to wait in a room that looked more like a Versailles ballroom than a waiting room.

Très belle gare, très photogénique. La gare, est très proche du centre de la ville et des rues commerçantes. Le train est donc une solution idéale pour une visite de la ville tout en évitant les embouteillages fréquents.

Cette gare mérite probablement le titre de merveille de Belgique et même celui de plus belle gare du monde. C'est un plaisir pour la vue et un défi incroyable à relever pour se limiter à quelques photos.

Superbe, impressionnante ! Sans doute une des plus belles gares au monde : mise en service en 1836, mise sur 3 niveaux en 2007 : anciennement gare terminale, elle permet maintenant une jonction avec les Pays Bas.
