In the east of the island, the Vanilla trail goes through the traditional vanilla fields and makes you discover the transformation of the green pods at the vanilla cooperative. The 13.5 km route overlooks the mangrove swamps before getting closer to the sea. The loop allows you to feel the pulse of the local life: the effervescence of the (very) beginning of the day, the calm of the hot afternoons and then the departure of the fishermen in dugout canoes. The most athletic will be able to walk the path during the marathons organized by the commune of Chiconi.
