ALIBATES FLINT QUARRIES NATIONAL MONUMENT

13,000 years ago, this site was well known to mammoth hunters. It is one of the parks in Texas that is most closely tied to the history of this territory. There are nearly 550 archaeological sites in the park, all of which are accessible with a guide. Composed of large plains, the park has long been home to huge herds of animals, such as bison and horses. It is here that the native people of Texas used to have their great market!
