If Hervé Bégin has fun producing thousands of Gaston snails that have become a new emblem of Burgundy, it should not be forgotten that he is above all a locksmith and metalworker. A profession he has practiced for more than 30 years, including more than 10 years for his own company. A know-how that allows him to create real works of art for individuals, stairs, railings, gates, canopies. Forged, welded, steel or powder-coated aluminium, the possibilities are endless. It also uses its know-how in the renovation of these parts, restoring them to their new appearance, in a durable way thanks to powder coating. Mechanical welding is also aimed at professionals in agriculture, construction and even household appliances such as Seb, for whom Hervé Bégin makes prototypes. It is here that Gaston l'Escargot Bourguignon was born in 2013, during an exercise given to an apprentice. Since then, Gaston, forged and powder-coated, has been acclaimed throughout Burgundy, France and even around the world, becoming the proud emblem of the Bégin locksmith's workshop.
