Small family seaside resort, located 230 km from Mersin and 125 km from Alanya, where tourism is mainly national. Its beautiful sandy beach stretching for 22 km is home to one of the most important nesting sites of sea turtles (the famousCaretta caretta). You will be charmed by its port and by the ruins of Roman and Byzantine houses whose frescoes and mosaics are well preserved. The city Anemurium ("place of the winds"), which would have been founded in the first century, saw its apogee in the Byzantine period. Following an earthquake around 580 and the capture of Cyprus by the Arabs in 649, the vulnerable city was abandoned and never repopulated.
