To the north-east of Ishak Palace Paşa, where the ruins of an original fortress (Daryunk) stand on a rocky hill opposite the tomb of Ehmedê Xanî (17th century poet and philosopher), traces of an Urartan settlement are still visible in a place called Belleburç. After the Ottoman conquest, Sultan Beyazit I had it renovated. After his death, she took the name Beyazit in his honor. In the inner part of the fortress is the Beyazit Eski Camii (Mosque) built during the reign of Sultan Selim I.
