The hall forms a central hub for wine tourism and houses the Gevrey-Chambertin Nuits-Saint-Georges tourist office.
Getting to Halle Chambertin couldn't be easier: it's located in the center of the village, in the former town hall. Set up by the Communauté de communes Gevrey-Chambertin Nuits-Saint-Georges, it is a veritable hub for local wine tourism, housing the Office Gevrey-Chambertin Nuits-Saint-Georges Tourisme. It is also, and above all, the interpretation center for the Climats and the history of the commune, focusing on 3 themes: wine, tourism and nature. Three key words for getting to know this wine-growing region, which boasts 9 Grands Crus among the 24 of the Côte de Nuits and the 33 of Burgundy. In these former halls, built in 1830, the aromas of "Vin des rois, roi des Vins" (wine of kings, king of wines) are revealed during a guided tasting of appellations from local estates. 16 wines, housed in enomatics, are offered for tasting by the glass. The Halle is also a showcase for the Combe Lavaux Jean-Roland, a 487-hectare protected nature reserve in the hills above Brochon and Gevrey-Chambertin. Its geological history and biodiversity are presented in an entertaining way. You can also listen to Radio Chambertin, where you can hear about the town's experience and expertise. Last but not least, the Galerie des Pépites showcases Gevrey-Chambertin's historical figures and treasures, including the crown of King Chambertin and objects representative of Gevrey-Chambertin traditions.
