Gărâna is a tiny mountain village nestled in the heart of the Semenic Mountains Natural Park, 37 km southeast of Reșița. The village is best known for hosting a prestigious and popular international jazz festival, held here every July since 1997. Numerous other cultural and sporting events take place here: enduro races, a folk festival in August... The surrounding area, little known to tourists, offers great hiking opportunities and the scenery is superb. The village even boasts three ski slopes of moderate difficulty. The mountain resort of Semenic is also nearby.
