Wase's market (オ海ي¥, wase shichang), which is held every five days, is an event that must not be missed. On the other side of the lake with Dali, this market is the most authentic in the lake, because the least frequented by tourists. The inhabitants of the surrounding mountains draw their horses to the market entrance; hens and pigs run between the legs of the traders, and general agitation becomes a festival of colors when the different ethnic minorities blend into the middle of the morning.
