Accessible via the Rocherpan bird reserve, the trail leads to Elandsbaai, a small resort renowned for its surf spot.
You'll have to take the coastal road south to a crow's-foot; be careful not to go straight ahead. You must leave the main road on the right and always keep the track on the left. It is a track accessible between 8am and 6pm, through the Rocherpan bird reserve. This is how you reach Elandsbaai. This small resort offers a few beaches and above all a famous surf spot in the middle of the glide. The pond formed by the river Verlorenvlei is very popular with ornithologists and bird watchers.

Lamberts bay, au départ de cette route privée, est célèbre pour sa colonie de "Fous du Cap", des cousins à pattes noires de notre "Fou de Bassan" du nord de l'Atlantique. La colonie est accessible à pied par la jetée du port (ou se trouve un parking et la petite cahute pour l'achat des billets). Un observatoire en dur, avec balcon à l'étage, est installé à une quinzaine de mètres des premiers oiseaux. Envols, atterrissages et cris permanents. A ne pas manquer si on s'intéresse à l'avifaune
