LE LAVOIR DE GUÉWENHEIM
Laundrette built in 1860 with 18 planks, a place that was used for large-scale washing and offers a barefoot pathway
Built in 1860, the washhouse is one of the few heritage features still visible today. It stands at the entrance to the village from the Thann road. The village philatelic association has even produced a stamp! Built by Louis Bian, a manufacturer in Sentheim, in exchange for a plot of land to be built on, it was used for large-scale washing and consisted of 18 boards. Covered, enlarged and renovated several times, its use was lost with the advent of washing machines. Nearby, a barefoot path completes your stopover in the countryside.
