Built after the death of President Tancredo Neves in 1985, the "Pantheon of the Homeland" is a monument to the heroes of the homeland, i.e. Brazilians who fought for their country's democracy and freedom. It features a permanent exhibition on the most emblematic figures in the country's history, such as Tiradentes, hero of the Inconfidência, as well as the Mural da Liberdade by Athos Bulcão and a stained glass window by Marianne Peretti.
