PALACIO DA JUSTIÇA
Gothic and modern palace, built in concrete and steel, housing the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Government of Brazil
This palace, designed by Niemeyer and conceived by Joaquim Cardozo, houses the Ministry of Justice, officially the Raymondi Faoro Palace of Justice. Its arches and cascades flowing over the water mirror that surrounds the building make up this construction that is both Gothic and modern. The building is constructed from concrete and steel. It exudes a certain rigor befitting its regal function as guarantor of democracy for the "impavid giant". Inside, an attractive winter garden was designed by renowned landscape architect Burle Marx.
