Founded in the century during the reign of Ly Nhân Tông, this pagoda is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha and the monk Tu Dao Hanh.
In the middle of the Long Chiêu Lake, a pavilion for the performances of the puppet theatre on the water. Two covered bridges built in the 17th century are dedicated to the sun and the moon. The pagoda of the Master (Chua Thay), also called Thiên Phuc Tu (Pagoda of the Heavenly Blessing), founded in the 11th century during the reign of Ly Nhân Tông (1066-1128), the fourth representative of the Ly dynasty, is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha as well as to the monk Tu Dao Hanh (1072-1116), physician, mystic and healer, who lived here in the 12th century. According to legend, he is the inventor of the water puppet theatre. He marked his contemporaries by his religious fervour, his generosity towards the poor and the help he brought to the reign of justice in the region. One of the buildings (Truong pagoda) is dedicated to the monk's cult and three statues evoke his different reincarnations: on the left, a representation of the monk, in the centre Tu Dao Hanh as Buddha and on the right King Ly Thân Tông (1116-1138), the fifth representative of the Ly dynasty.
The ascent continues to the upper pagoda (chua cao) behind which is the Phât Tich or Thanh Hoa (Metamorphosis of the Saint) cave. Higher still, the Buddha Cave (Hang But Moc). At the top, the wind cave (Hang Gio) and the sky market (Cho troi), cluttered with stones that evoke the stalls of the merchants. The site is very poetic, dotted with small sanctuaries and miniature universes that are reflected in each other with the airs of a celestial garden.
