What became of Julius Caesar after his dazzling victory at Alesia? This is the question most frequently asked by visitors to the MuseoPark's educational teams. That's why it served as the basis for the new 2025 temporary exhibition: "Caesar, all roads lead to Rome". The ambition of this annual program is twofold. It retraces Caesar's political career, from his military triumph to his assassination in 44 BC. It also reveals the man behind the legend. A fine strategist, he was also overflowing with ambition and a dictator, which led to his death... The exhibition was made possible thanks to the archaeological holdings of the MuséoParc, as well as loans of works of art from prestigious sites, from the Museum of Modern Art in Bologna to the Musée d'Archéologie Nationale in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Coins found on the battlefield, Renaissance paintings and engravings plunge visitors into the life of one of the greatest historical figures of Antiquity. The exhibition is designed for all ages, with a children's section superimposed on the adult section. A giant game of goose welcomes visitors, while further on, the main scenes from his life are depicted using Playmobil® figurines that appeal to young and old alike! Both educational and entertaining, this exhibition at MuséoParc Alésia is the main theme of the 2025 program. Not to be missed!
