This castle (Dobojska Tvrđava/Добојска Тврђава) is poorly maintained, but offers a wide panorama over Doboj and the Bosna. Set on a hill 177 m above sea level, it was erected from the 13th century onwards and besieged no fewer than eighteen times, most notably in 1415 (the date appears above the entrance gate), when Bosnian Grand Duke Hrvoje Vukčić Hrvatinić succeeded here in repelling the Hungarians with Ottoman help. You can explore the courtyard, the mighty ramparts and the Captain's Tower. But some places can be dangerous.
