VIMOUTIERS MILL
Small half-timbered mill in working order in the heart of the town of Vimoutiers
In the heart of Vimoutiers, along the river La Vie, this charming half-timbered mill is one of the few working mills in the region. Dating back to the 14th century, it was originally a tanning mill (for preparing hides) before becoming a flour mill. Powered by the river, it was fitted with a turbine in 1928. Rebuilt after the Second World War and the bombing of Vimoutiers, it is now possible to discover the mill (booking required) thanks to its two owners: Yvette and Jean Brêteau, a former miller.
