Admission: 6,000 FCFA per adult (3,000 FCFA per child), guide fees: 5,000 FCFA/car. After being managed by a private body, whose objective was the conservation of the natural heritage of the forests of Dibon and Deux-Balé, this concession was taken over by the National Office for Protected Areas (OFINAP, +226 25 35 35 64 15). Somewhat degraded by poaching, bush fires, pastoralism (especially zebus), and gold panning, this park is especially remarkable for its elephant population. However, its 90,000 hectares are not enough for the pachyderms, which often leave these boundaries to go to the classified forests neighbouring Baporo, Sorobouli and the others along the Mouhoun River. In dry periods, from December to April, it is common to be able to observe them. In rainy periods, however, no one really knows where they are. Migration hypotheses between Nazinga and these forests are made but no scientific research has been conducted on the subject. In order to facilitate the vision of the various animals (elephants but also pattasses, guibarnachés...) OFINAP is building several water points within the reserve. For the traveller, it is necessary to go to the office of the Deux-Balé Management Unit beforehand. Coming from Bobo, pass the hospital on your left and take the first track on the right. Walk past the town hall and take the natural continuation of the track (left turn), on the right a green sign with elephants (general direction: +226 25 35 35 73 34). Only Field Unit guides are authorized and trained to conduct park tours. The main access to the Parc des Deux-Balé is located 10 km from the Boromo track.
