Around Boromo is one of the highest concentrations of the Bwaba ethnic group, known in particular for its culture of masks, which is still very much alive today. However, don't expect to see them on every street corner, as the mask exits are closely linked to the events of daily life in the villages: birth, marriage, burial, harvests, rains, etc.In Oury, 27 kilometres from Boromo, mask carving is reserved for the blacksmiths' guild, also woodcarvers: the Konaté family. You can observe their work in the shade of the "cheesemakers", as well as a traditional forge still in operation.
