The 26-metre-high tower served as a landmark for soldiers during the Middle Ages and is a place steeped in legend.

Near the Andaines forest, the Tour de Bonvouloir (Bonvouloir Tower) has stood over 26 metres high since the 15th century. Legend has it that it was erected by the knight Guyon Essirard as a tribute to his regained vigor with his lady. The originality of the site, with its well, chapel and dovecote, led to its inclusion in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. A botanical garden open to the public runs alongside the Tower, and is the starting point for a trail that straddles the boundary between the imaginary and the real, all the way to the Sainte-Geneviève chapel.
