60 km from Whitehorse, near Jakes on the Alaska Highway, a hundred kilometer long road leads to Atlin. This remote village in British Columbia is also the birthplace of the Taku River Tlingit First Nations, accessible only from the Yukon. On the way, you will have to do a very physical hike in the White Mountains because of the steep climb. But in less than 2 hours, you'll be at the top of the Yukon where you'll have a breathtaking view. A few campsites near Snafu Lake. This small fishing hamlet welcomes you but services of any kind are very limited.
