On the border between Orne and Calvados, this splendid site boasts a magnificent 15th-century manor house, whose architectural features have been restored. Around it, the owners have recreated a garden in the image of the proportioned spaces conceived by Renaissance artists. The challenge has been met: this remarkable garden, open in fine weather, boasts several terraces and skilfully plays on perspective and proportion. As well as being a soothing stopover, it's a visit out of time.
